TOMBOLO™ Totes

billboard vinyl beach bags designed by Christopher Deam

Chris Deam and I set out to create the world’s best beach bag. We asked questions like "How can we simplify a tote to its fundamental essence while encouraging creative reuse and conscious consumption?”

We created an origami-inspired-one-piece-no-sewing-required tote made from outdoor advertisement vinyl – billboards – for an inspired, minimalist design.

Each 36x30x8” bag is die cut from discarded outdoor advertisement art (billboard vinyl)

o   The bag’s one-piece construction features four pockets

o   Durable, waterproof, and UV-resistant

o   Each is one-of-a-kind: designs vary from blank to bold

o   Every year, enough vinyl is wasted in the US alone to more than cover the state of Massachusetts in a layer of billboard material

We selected climb-spec tubular webbing for comfortable shoulder straps

o   Made in USA by Blue Water Ropes, a family-owned company

o   Lifetime warranty

o   Climbing rated to 4,000+ lbs.

Made in Michigan – Detroit area

Assembled by Adapt, a sheltered workshop program that provides vocational training and work experience for individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness, and those in need of employment.

o   We are committed to local, ethical labor that provides meaning and purpose
